As a sign of beginning of the flyover AP Pettarani construction, PT BMN supported by the Government of Makassar City and South Sulawesi Provincial Government, held a groundbreaking event at Jenderal Urip Sumoharjo street (Direction to Barawaja), Makassar on 19 October 2017.

The construction of this toll road is one of BMN contributions that participated in providing solutions to break vehicle congestion in Makassar City. The event was attended by more than 300 guests, inaugurated by the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR), Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono and witnessed by the Governor of South Sulawesi, Mr. Syahrul Yasin Limpo, Head of Toll Road Regulatory Agency (BPJT), Mr. Herry Trisasputra Zuna, Head of South Sulawesi DPRD, Mr. H. Moh. Roem, Mayor of Makassar, Mr. Ramdhan Pomanto and other regional officials. This 4.3 kilometer flyover toll road will use a cantilever design (double decker), the first technology built with no land acquisition in Indonesia.
