Subsidiaries of Nusantara Infrastructures Consortium Establish Investment Partnership to Strengthen Toll Road Business
Jakarta, July 1, 2024 - PT Nusantara Infrastructure Tbk, through its subsidiary PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN), part of the GIC-MPTC consortium, announced its latest strategic initiative about an investment partnership for the management of the Trans Java Toll Road which owned by PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), a subsidiary of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk through the signing of the Conditional Shares Purchase Agreement (CSPA) on June 28, 2024 in Jakarta. The GIC-MPTC consortium consists of PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN), PT Metro Pacific Tollways Indonesia Services (MPTIS), and Warrington Investment Pte. Ltd. (WIPL), subsidiaries of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC) as one of the world’s most notable sovereign wealth funds. This initiative form is part of Nusantara Infrastructure’s strategy to strengthen its position as the leading private sector in the toll road industry. Danni Hasan, President Director of PT Margautama Nusantara (MUN) stated, “This investment partnership is part of the Company’s long-term strategy to lead the toll road sector by assuring sustainable growth and creating added value for shareholders.” This investment is expected to enhance the Company’s portfolio capacity in the toll road sector and significantly contribute to national infrastructure development. This partnership aims not only to enlarge the investment portfolio but also to strengthen synergies and collaboration between governmental and private entities in providing optimal services to toll road users. Danni further remarked, “This is solid proof of our role as a national private company that commits to developing the toll road industry in Indonesia. The Corporation also has pledged to invest up to Rp40 trillion in various strategic projects over the coming years.”
In this corporate action, various parties have been involved such as BCA Sekuritas and HSBC as Joint Financial Advisors. As a point of information, the Trans Java Toll Road, operated by PT JTT which has 676 kilometers long connects strategic regions across Indonesia with traffic volumes that are growing annually and plays a crucial role in supporting public mobility. This toll road comprises 13 sections, namely: Jakarta – Cikampek; Jakarta – Cikampek II Elevated; Palimanan – Kanci; Batang – Semarang; Semarang Section A, B, C; Semarang – Solo; Solo – Ngawi; Ngawi – Kertosono – Kediri; Surabaya – Mojokerto; Surabaya – Gempol; Gempol – Pasuruan; Gempol – Pandaan and Pandaan – Malang.
